Volcano eruption in New Zealand

The volcano cloud from Mount Tongariro in New Zealand's 'Lord of the Rings' park disrupts the air traffic in New Zealand. Both domestic and international flight are disrupted.

A massive plume of ash mounts up into the sky as Mount Tongariro erupts in Tongariro National Park, New Zealand on November 21, 2012.

The volcano previously erupted in August this year, the first time in more than a century.
Authorities issued a no-fly alert above the mountain located in the sparsely populated area of central North Island, NBC news reports.

According to Volcano Met Centre VAAC in Wellington the ash cloud is estimated to be short lived but the cloud is drifting to the east. The warning is in effect from the surface to fight level 270.
