Fear of flying is a very common problem and it is nothing to be a shamed of.
As a matter of fact, since flying is not what we are build to do, fear of flying is more normal than abnormal. Nevertheless in modern society flying has become an everyday event, and being afraid of flying can become a disabling handicap.

Almost 50 percent of all people say that they experience more or less discomfort when flying.
Phobia for flying is along with snake- and – spider phobia, one of the three most common phobias.
Women are affected twice as often as men.

Fear of flying makes about 20 percent of all people totally abstain from flying.

10 percent of all people say that they are severely afraid, where as 20 to 30 percent state that they are mildly afraid of flying.

In the US alone, about 50 million people are afraid of flying.

Being afraid of flying is not only a problem for the person that is affected, but also to the person's family, friends and it can severely interfere with your work.

Try not to influence your children, making them afraid just because you are.
