Cancer is a disease that touches everyone. One in three people in the UK will develop cancer at some time in their lives and more than 250,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK – that’s the equivalent of nine full Flybe aircraft every day of the year.
More and more people are surviving the disease thanks to huge advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer made possible by ongoing research. All money raised by Flybe will help fund the vital research of over 3,500 research scientists, doctors and nurses throughout the UK and, ultimately, to beat cancer.
Flybe dedicates June to Cancer Research UK and carrying out on-board collections on each and every one of its flights during that month.
In the first two years of the partnership, Flybe staff and passengers managed to raise more than £300,000.
